The headless Easter egg hunt boy

When Ben sees the headless boy on the stairs and it drops a few of the eggs it is holding, they smash on the steps like they are raw and uncooked. What is with that? I thought eggs as used for Easter egg hunts are supposed to be HARD-BOILED?

Or is it a case of Pennywise not knowing that, or the smashed eggs are symbolism for smashed children's skulls?

I think you are reading too much into this terrible movie.

Your opinion. My opinion is different.

Obviously you liked this movie, which is fine. I didn't.

If you pay attention to what Ben is reading about in the book the librarian gave him and read some of the headlines to the articles, you'll see what triggered Ben to see the Easter egg shaped grenades and the headless soldier when IT/Pennywise took the shape of what Ben was afraid of. It took me a couple watches to realize why he was seeing the Easter egg grenades.

Soldier? Grenades? Maybe you didn't read the headlines yourself, it was an EASTER EGG HUNT with CHILDREN.

reply

I think they did it just for effect..

Whether the kid was headless or not? I know a few librarians back in my day that would have made that kid clean up that mess...

Huh???
