Friends kept telling me it was so scary...
... so I put off watching it for two years.
I didn't really get spooked by what was clearly meant to be scary. The clown just wasn't scary, even though we see what it is capable of. There were some other scary things but nothing that made me see what they were talking about. Maybe it's because I waited so long and expected something so terribly scary. A lesson learnt, maybe.
I got more into the eighties references and it felt a lot like Stranger Things which I have also enjoyed (and is a bit more scarier to me!).
