Bc the 2 movies made $1b. and they can most likely get the Pennywise actor to sign up for reasonable money.
I think the original intention was to have done a 3rd film, but since everything is going streaming now and Chapter2 kind of underperformed (similar to Obi Wan switching from movie to stream after Solo underperformed) its now a series (like the 1990s mini series:)
