shareIt featured an ensemble cast with older actors, younger actors, and middle-aged actors, it was mixed-race, and featured a character who flew right off of the gender/sexuality spectrum. It did all this back in 2009.
They messed with storytelling methods and formulae, running around with homage/parodies, time splits, and everything else they could think of. Abed meta'd the heck out of everything. The ending of the show goes somewhere most sitcoms don't allow themselves to go.
