Amazing
This is quite a complex film. I admire Todd Fields a lot for having the talent to accomplish this film. It’s not a easy film to watch (all his films are rather depressing) but worth the effort if you want something more than the usual Hollywood fare. Cate Blanchett is incredible in playing a somewhat unlikeable character.
I was actually surprised to learn this was an entirely fictional film. For the first third, I thought I was watching a biopic about a real concert maestro!
