Obnoxious and unfunny

I read an article in Forbes titled: Deadloch is one of the best mysteries in years. So I had to give it a shot. After watching half of the first episode, I have to ask: what are they smoking and who' paying for it?

The show is described as a feminist noir comedy. Let me tell you, it's none of these things.

First of all, noir? Absolutely not.

Feminist? As a woman, I'm having trouble understanding what makes this series feminist. Is it the fact that all people in positions of power in that town are women, but act like caricatures of drunk, toxic men? Is performing c*nnilingus on a woman who is on her period, empowering and feminist? Is the fact that women literally tackle each other like quarterbacks, feminist?

Now let's get to the cherry on the top: comedy! I scrolled through the reviews and some of the titles were: Hilarious! Brilliant! Great fun! Excellent show! Ok, different strokes for different folks, right?
Let me give you a sample of that excellent humor: During a ( mostly serious ) briefing about the murder, the lead detective walks in the room, dressed in kakis, flipflops, a Hawaiian shirt and a messy bun. She seems drunk/ high/hungover. Looking at a picture of the dead body, who is nude, she says, and a quote: "How long has shrivel d*ck been dead for? How did he die? His through is cut? Maybe he did it to himself!" She says as she puts on leg on a desk and stars to mime a vigorous masturbation session, while making sloppy tongue sounds. She was implying auto erotic asphyxiation, as one would expect in a case of a victim with a cut thorough.

This is the point where I tapped out.

To sum it up, this is an obnoxious, over the top, unfunny and unnecessarily crass show. I am embarrassed that it's called feminist or comedy.
