Still think it was a missed opportunity not having Michael Rooker play Daryl Crowe Jr.

I just never bought Michael Rapaport in the role, felt like that role would've been made more menacing and believable by Michael Rooker.

Throughout the entire show i always felt Michael Rooker should've had some role in the show, ideally as a season villain, cause he plays such a damn good bad guy and would've fit in perfectly with the hillbilly country setting of Justified.

Merle Dixon? Cmon man

I wouldn't have complained one bit if he was essentially Merle, maybe with some tweaks to differentiate the two characters a bit, would've been better than Rapaport

I agree and disagree.

Yup, he's one of those character actors that always stands out in the crowd for the very reasons you mention.

And that's the problem... Walton Goggins was such a charismatic villain that Rooker's equally charismatic presence might have upset the dynamic of the show.
