Good movie, but...

I just saw this film on EWTN two weekends ago. The only qualm that I have about it is that it focuses too much on the fictional characters it portrays, and not enough on Pope Pius himself. I know that its intent was to give the viewer some idea of the plight of the Italian Jews during the Second World War, but again, too much emphasis was placed on these fictional people the movie portrays, and not enough on the pope. Too much criticism has been made of the way he handled the situation, and you'd think that if someone were going to make a movie on that, its intent would be to try to discredit that criticism. More of his policies and impact on the Church should have been showcased, along with what this film portrays. It's not a bad movie, and I would see it again...and again...but in my opinion, it poorly set out to do what it was trying to do.

Maybe someday, within our lifetimes hopefully, they can make a better film with more focus on the Pope.

Miriam got on my nerves and a lot of focus was put on her.
