shareI think he's hearing things that aren't there. I believe it may be a subtle foreshadowing to Morgan slipping back into insanity. After Benjamin died there was a brief scene where Morgan was hallucinating and having flashbacks to his own dead child, and then he referred to Benjamin by the wrong name when confronting his group. So, I think Morgan is having a psychotic break and the writers are trying to show us that he's only going to get far worse with time. Good ole crazy Morgan is on the horizon and a pile of bodies will undoubtedly follow in his wake.
As we know the only thing that pulled him out of insanity the last time was the bushido zen stuff he was taught. Now he has abandoned those teachings, so it seems likely he will return to insanity, albeit with some sweet, newfound fighting skills.

After Alexandria's walls are breached by the walkers, (in the TV show , the tower collapses) Morgan gets bitten on the arm, and Michonne quickly amputates it with her kitana before the infection spreads. Morgan is taken to the infirmary, and Denise patches him up. Tragically, though, he doesn't survive. During a conversation with Michonne, she realizes he's gone and kills him to stop his walker transformation. Michonne and Morgan had been sleeping together.
Good ole crazy Morgan is on the horizon and a pile of bodies will undoubtedly follow in his wake.
