the little wittled soldier figurine?

What was the significance of it? Who did it belong to?

There must be something I am forgetting.

I guess we are supposed to assume that Dwight took a moment during the fighting to pull out his pen and leave a message for Daryl in a pile of leaves.

I figured he knew before he even got to Alexandria, and had that in his pocket. He put it by the gate right as he was leaving, hoping or knowing that it would be found.

It’s Dwight who carves wooden soldiers. in S06E06 Dwight gave a tiny wooden soldier to Daryl for Tina’s insulin.... He's conveying to Daryl that he had no knowledge of Junk people siding with Negan and Backstabbing Rick & Co. and He's still with them.

reply

If he had that knowledge and wanted to help why not inform Rick about the backstabbing plot?

I guess he didnt know. The soldier is a reaccurance for Daryl that hes still on Ricks side.

reply

Everyone is right, it was left by Dwight. But I'm still confused as to why... I didn't think Dwight was supposed to go back to the Savior compound. I thought he was just supposed to block the way (like he did) and go back to Alexandria and help fight. I'm not clear on why he went back. I must have missed something, some reason he had to go back, and then he got sucked back in because Negan was leaving then...

reply

No, the plan is for Dwight to be an informant.

reply

Dwight wrote on it, so that whomever found it they would know he had NO idea about the garbage people being traitors. Now it's up to Daryl and Rick to believe Dwight , or not.
