Wow, has this show jumped the shark.

Such a boring mess. The same thing over and over again. The show needs a new direction or else it just needs to end. When you can't wait for the show to end, you know the it is getting stale.

reply

I have to agree. I am tiring of it. I never thought I would say that.😥

reply

Me either, but enough is enough. They really need to go in a different direction. The good vs. evil thing is played out. Maybe they should delve into why the zombie apocalypse happened. I know it was a virus, but maybe it goes well beyond that.

reply

I agree, I want to see the origin. Let's see how academia approached the outbreak. How the military dealt with it, etc.

reply

Yes. And really, they should've gone that route a long time ago. That's why season 1 was so good. It had plot progression. Since then it has been like a rat running a wheel going in endless circles. Find a safe place, encounter bad humans, safe place is jeopardized, they fight over it....repeat. That's not plot progression, its pointless repetitive spectacle.

reply

That is so true. Wash, rinse, repeat...wash, rinse repeat. The show was so much more interesting when they were in the city of Atlanta. Now it is the same thing over and over again. The story and characters never go anywhere anymore. They just stay in the same situation with no movement forward. The firing of Frank Darabont was a terrible mistake.

reply

It really was. And Darabonts proposed story for a second season suggest that the story was going to be a bit more of an anthology. Season 2 was originally going to focus on what happened to the marine in the tank pre-zombification. Then presumably season 3 would have picked up with rick and co. again. I think if they had off set the seasons that way, focus on a different group, then back to Rick, then another group again, they could have kept things fresher that way. Because another problem is that as a viewer I just don't really care about this group anymore. I want to see whats going on in the rest of the world. But world building (storywise) doesn't seem to interest the writers at all. Even with Fear the Walking Dead, they have seemingly abandoned what that show was supposed to be about originally, which was what started the outbreak in the first place. Instead they showed us when everything started which is far less interesting.

reply

I was so excited to see Fear The Walking Dead, because it was going to show the beginning of the outbreak, but now it has turned into the same old thing like The Walking Dead. Stopped watching that show. With The Walking Dead there has to be more interesting things happening in other places, but we just stay in boring old Georgia. I'd like to see them somehow get to NYC and maybe get a fresh perspective on the story. This has to be the worst season so far. The first episodes have been pitiful.

reply

"The good vs. evil thing is played out."

That's the problem! They seem to think that the fans would be happy with the "action" this season and the story isn't progressing and the "action" is boring. We may be stuck with the good vs evil storylines since it's based on the graphics novels which don't have an end in sight.

Fear the Walking Dead became garbage. Totally unwatchable.

reply

NYC is by far the most played out boring location possible. Do you really need to see more loud mouthed douchebag assholes posturing around and playing at being tough guys?

reply

Totally agree. I would prefer they go some place new and exotic.

At least the people on "Last Man on Earth" travel to different places.

reply

Absolutely right! Gimple is no-talent pompous ass.

They have no idea what the mystery agent is. Something was spreading that reanimated dead human bodies (and no other species). The first walkers were just people who died and turned. When a walker bites you, it causes a fatal infection that doesn't respond to any known treatment. So, the zombie contagion is everywhere but in a passive state. Once you die, it goes active and takes over control of your body. When an already dead person bites someone who's still alive, the active form of the pathogen passes into their blood stream and doesn't go back to sleep. It invades their nervous system and kills them.

Viruses need the metabolism of a living cell to reproduce so it probably isn't a virus. One idea I like is that it's an ancient parasitic organism which used to part of the ecosystem but disappeared after one of the mass extinctions because all its compatible host animals died off. We had the bad luck to re-evolve a gene that made us compatible, and exposed a pocket of the organism by, say, oil drilling or natural gas fracking.

A more scientifically plausible theory is that it's a self-replicating nanotechnology. Perhaps something intended for medical use, which was unfinished when it started replicating out of control. This would explain why it only affects humans. It would also account for how walkers are able to keep moving around even when they don't take in any food. Nanites could be designed to scavenge energy from the surroundings. Wind moving past the walkers, sunlight falling on them, thermal differences in their surroundings, etc.

Nanites would have command codes built in, so someone could theoretically use a cell phone or other transmitter to cure a bite victim by shutting them off - or kill a crowd of living people where they stand by activating them. You could set up a network of wireless routers around your community's perimeter continuously broadcasting the Off code, creating a dead zone for the dead. Any walker that gets within a hundred yards falls down and stays down.

I agree, this show has become shit, i still watch but I used to love it and now its hard to sit trough another crappy episode.

reply

It’s true . I couldn’t wait for it . Now it’s ," I guess I’ll watch it"😟

reply

I agree with a redditor, some of the action scenes looked like they were from Sharknado. Lol! Bullet hits that don't leave a mark? Guns with zero recoil? Endless ammo shooting at each other separated by only a few feet?

reply

Correct. Should have ended 2 seasons ago.

reply

I agree. Season 6 was the turning point and each season after that has been worse than the previous one. This season is already terrible and we are just 4 episodes in.

reply

And yet you will watch every episode, lol.

reply

Its going round in circles that's for sure and they're taking the Michael with the unlimited ammo automatic weapons and lets just have a stroll up to this building like they haven't a care in the world, because I smile....malarkey. Never thought I say this but the plot is wearing thin, very thin.

reply

I did not enjoy the last episode, the show has turned into a cheesy action movie, remember one of the first action scenes in the prison? It showed so many more interesting camera angles, and it was just allot better action, now you got entire mobs, shooting endless supplies of bullets, boring camera angles, etc...

Yeah, agree. I loved the entire prison season. It was golden.
