Rick spared Negan's life. WTF??? I know what Rick's dying son Carl said about they must make peace with Negan and the Saviors. But come on bro!!! Negan has killed Glen and Abraham. The Saviors have killed many of Rick's crew. Negan is clearly someone way too dangerous to be kept alive. Rick has sworn to kill Negan and has become someone who kills people with just the slightest provocation. And now, after years of trying to kill Negan, he manages to slash Negan's throat with a shard of glass and then tells the medic to patch him up? And Maggie is the only one outraged by this? Darryl, Rosita, Morgan, or someone else would've cursed Rick out and killed Negan themself.

Negan talks about this in the last few episodes near the end.

Yeah, I more or less agree with you.
Maybe instead of just killing him right there are then, he could have insisted there be a trial.
The problem is that if Negan is left alive there is a leader to rally around and is a very dangerous
time.
I think the point may be that you cannot just jump from dog-eat-dog barbarism to anti-capital-punishment pacifism in a split-second in the heat of a passionate. violent war.

You most certainly can if your writers are insipid Hollywood Leftists who are determined to hand-wave away any aspect of realism that might impede the anti-capital-punishment message they are pushing.

I would agree. Killing him would be what any norm person would've done. A crime of passion, nobody can resist and would've killed Negan with all the adrenaline pumping. Scripts and future plans change normal behavior for the characters.
