Let me start by saying I haven't seen any of the movies. I tried to read the book many years ago and couldn't get through the first one. So not a fan

The other day I'm talking to a friend about movies and this comes up. I comment about how it took almost 40 years to create a sequel. Talk about embarrassing. I didn't know they remade the 1984 movie a few years back and thought this was a sequel to that.

I'm usually really good at movie history and trivia. Anyway, since I made such a bone head comment thought I might as well put myself at your mercy.

i had trouble reading books because the font is always too small. so i started reading books on my computer instead and its much better cuz you can make the font way bigger.

Technically the one "a few years back" was a TV miniseries. Dune in 2000 (three episodes} and Children of Dune in 2003 (another 3 episodes) so technical you were correct in regard to "movies"

I also read a few pages of the book, but lost interest, and the book was way more complex.

There are several professions due to the enhancement of spice, Bene Gesserit is just one of them. House Harkonnen used a strategist with enhanced capabilities created a scheme which defeated the house Atreides.

The power of spice was not fully revealed in the movie.
