Sad and Pi$$ed both...

For those of you who have yet to see this movie, do not read this if you don't wish to have the whole thing ruined for you, k?..fair warning......................okay, it was your choice...anyway, i just watched this movie and was lovin it bigtime, almost as much as Gwyneth, and then the ending slapped me as hard as the Dallas Cowboy defensive line all at once...saddened me and ticked me off both at the same time and haven't felt that way about an ending since Forrest Gump...but the title was about Strength and um, for those that have seen this movie by now, you know as well as i do, it certainly did not finish strong, not completely anyway...wow, um, guess thats all i gotta say...your turn.

Yep, I understand your feelings. However, I do believe the ending was to show that at the end, she was just not strong enough to meet her challenges, due especially to the way her husband kept pushing her.

I'm the kind of guy, when I move - watch my smoke. But I'm gonna need some good clothes though.

I honestly don't know why she killed herself, except she was massively self-destructive so it made sense. I think it was more that she saw Chiles taking her place, even possibly her husband, she was becoming a has been and she just wanted to end it all on top. Judging by the fact she was allow in her dressing room long enough to actually OD no one really cared about her enough to even wonder where she was.

I wasn't really sad over the ending, I didn't get teary eyed or anything. It was expected being she just got progressively worse and worse while everyone just sat back and refused to admit what was happening.

the name of the show was COUN TRY STRONG...the only strong thing about it was gwyneth being awesome as always as an actress and singer but that was it, except for the question marks...um, yeah, good show, confusing plot and way weird ending that depicted weakness, not strength...IMO.

The only thing I can think of is the title is supposed to be ironic?

the ending is what stopped me from buying the movie...the real ending with "Kelly", not the last part where ken meets barbie in margaritaville...lol...but again, the qustions...hmmm...

Yes, I agree with Harvey. Even the guy that was using her and thought to himself that he cared about her, he waited a long time for her marriage to even get a start to recover from the infidelity, and right after his conscience started to bother him about her adultery, he started to think he cared about someone else. Then he let time pass to allow her to OD. She was left alone in her dressing room way too long, as Harvey said. And her husband should have known she was going to OD, because he said earlier in the film that he know how many pills she takes because "he gave them to her." The only things I could think is that her husband was pushing her even harder to perform or he stopped thinking she needed monitoring because of her one good day helping 'Travis' with her 'concert'. The facts in the movie are that if people starting caring about the other person more than themselves, it would have ended less tragically. I personally think the movie could have been called "Bad Timing" or "Blinding Selfishness" and it would have made more sense.
