Another CGI Megaspectacle, but a Tired Plot

Despite the practicality (or lack thereof) of massive moving objects like London in this, the plot is mundane and unoriginal whilst the CGI overload of modern Wingnut Films continues unabated - it's as if they thought people would want to see another Hobbit (as if).

And apart from anything else, no details were raised about the killer android that used to be a human being - who is he, why was he converted, was it against his will, and why would he kill his ward (the scarred girl)?

Early on in the film, when London was chasing the smaller foreign traction engine, the latter was leading London towards a huge chasm but veering off at the last second, and then the chasm disappeared! The Londoners mentioned something about part of London being lost in the Great Tilt or something, and I would've liked to see London falling down at that point.

Then there's the topical issues like the Mayor stating "we should never have gone into Europe", being a nowhere-near-subtle nod to Brexit, and boy is that going to date the movie fast. And lastly, another fucking Death Star-like countdown. Yawn.

I even thought political correctness and China snuck their way into this movie like all modern blockbusters these days, with people of race and Chinese being the good guys on the Wall, and London (aside from a few token blacks) being white villains. But then the leads are white too, so it's not all one-sided.

Honestly, a forgettable movie, and I bet it will bomb. If it doesn't, I'll be surprised.

Who gives a flying fuck about story in a film about battle cities? Absolute pretension. I didn't even know this existed until yesterday but you folks are making me want to see it.
