Have to say I'm amazed this film was made for only $1.5 million. The cast are not unknowns, the special effects are good as are the normal production elements. No wonder this was said to be the most profitable film of 2011. It just goes to show you don't always need to spend $200 million+ .🐭

For reference Halloween (1978) cost $1.1 million (when adjusted to 2010, it cost $325 thousand back in 1978).
Evil Dead Rise (2023) cost $17 million, in 2023 Insidious would cost $2.1 million.
If this was shot today using LA based crews and location it would be $10mil easy.
