Original Mayor Russo

SO glad they wrote him out. Mayor Russo played by Bruce Altman was a total a-hole!

reply

He was meant to be. The mayor in that first season was used as a foil for Frank, the 'oily politician' versus Frank's no-nonsense, stand-up man of the peoople. Then the Powers That Be decided to go in a different direction, so they booted him out of office and went with a mayor with whom Frank could have a less contentious and more cooperative relationship.

reply

And Bruce Altman sure knows how to play an a-hole! ;-)

reply

I have a feeling Altman was just being himself!

reply

HA! Altman was on Mr Robot, playing his typical role, and I wanted to punch the TV! LOL

Here's another NYC/Law and Order actor who is good at playing an a-hole, Daniel Hugh Kelly...

He was better than the black guy who replaced him. Did mayor Poole resign this last season or decide not to run again? I can't stand seeing his character onscreen so I'm hoping his character is gone.

reply

Is there a reason you don't like Poole? Sometimes he's an ally, sometimes an antagonist.

I haven't heard of Poole losing an election, though, so unless that happens with this election year, he'll probably still be around.

reply

In 2015, Mayor Poole was re-elected to another term, so... ;-)

Don't know why he bugs you, but I like him. I like that he's a young, black liberal, and Frank is an older, white conservative, and they go toe-to-toe, and often they're both right, just on different sides.

and often they're both right, just on different sides.

How does that work?
Maybe sounds like something a German could say in WW2, if that actually works..
"We weren't wrong, or bad, we were just on different sides.."

I was indifferent to Poole, until that episode where he suddenly went full Sharpie on Frank and basically hung him and the cops out to dry publicly to keep looking good to the BLM rent-a-crowd fwits..

reply

You don't need it explained to you how it works...you know there are serious issues between black men and cops in this country. Both sides have extremely valid points.

reply

the only point black men, and their activists, may have is that, bare fact, well, sure, maybe a lot of cops really do look their way first.

Cops would have a lot of points why, if they could speak freely, which even Frank Reagan can't or would not.

When it gets interesting is when the cops are black, btw.

reply

I am quite sure there are many NYC residents who would prefer Carter Poole to current mayor Bill de Blasio, who is more like mayor Russo.
