So, according to showrunner, Kevin Wade, there will be a new mayor in BB's 8th season. Not sure how they are writing out Mayor Poole (didn't he just get re-elected in season 6?).

I wonder if the mayor's demise has anything to do with the fallout from Frank's shot across the bow in episode 20.....

From the CBS description of the season finale: " ...and Mayor Poole (David Ramsey) confides in Frank (Tom Selleck) that he has unexpected plans."
