A majority of people on this site are Jude Law’s character

I don’t know how people could watch this film and not see that they are behaving like Jude Law’s character in this movie. Spreading misinformation, saying that the vaccination is a mass conspiracy and promoting holistic cures. Do you not see it? This is exactly what’s happening.

We are trying to get this pandemic under control and all of this conspiracy is just holding us back.

With Ukraine on every outlet, covid bs is starting to finally go away. It's refreshing not seeing that little weasel all the time dictating to everyone..

reply

So frustrating that SO MANY people jumped on the conspiracy train.

reply

A lot of the people on MovieChat come here when 4chan is offline.

reply

Is 4Chan like youtube but the China version or is it more like the Chinese version of Reddit ya think?

reply

An actual vaccine immunizes. I'd be all for that.

Ivermectin and Hyroxychloroquin are not "holistic cures." They've been used for decades and have shown dramatic success in treating symptoms of Covid. Funny how the things that are not copywritten anymore are demonized by the media while they push the things that make tons of money for big pharma.

Vaccines and masks did not "get the pandemic under control" but in classic manner, correlation will be claimed as causation.

reply

Okay. Prove that Vaccines and Masks didn't slow down the spread of the virus, this should be interesting.

reply

Wearing a mask to stop the spread of corona virus is as effective as putting a chain-link fence around your house to keep out mosquitos. Even the disclaimer printed on packages of masks states that they do not work against corona virus. Masks are nothing but a mental security blanket for the ignorant, and a mind control device wielded by those in power. I don't have to prove it to you, because I couldn't care less if you believe it or not. Wear a face diaper for the rest of your life, if it makes you feel safe and virtuous.

reply

True ... but it is much less now that it was months ago in the middle of the pandemic.

reply

It's disconcerting to see how rapidly the anti-vaxxer movement grew in terms of influence. Perhaps their numbers are not as big as reported, but having the backing by one of the 2 major political parties and the bulk of right-wing media certainly helps. Oddly enough, and to his credit, Trump himself has been pro-vaccine.

My best friend fell for those Conspiracy theories and refused to get Vaccinated. On Sept 14th, 2021 he passed away from Covid. He was only 44 years old. His mother passed away yesterday from Cancer. He left 2 little girls that were only ten years old when their father died. Mass misinformation like this kills so many people they are some of the most dangerous people alive.
Sadly his mother died of Cancer yesterday it must have been awful for her to go through that without her son to comfort her. RIP Ken and Cindy.

The vaccine was hardly a guarantee that you wouldn't get covid. There's a reason they kept pushing for boosters, because it wasn't working right, and they still are. There is also evidence showing the vaccine itself has it's own dangers. I personally know 3 people who had their doctor tell them that they wouldn't recommend the vaccine for them, because they were in good health. Did sone people go overboard with conspiracies around covid? Absolutely they did. Was everything said about concerns regarding a rushed and highly questionable vaccine that most of the population didn't need untrue? Absolutely not. Like most things, the truth is in the middle. And it's fair to acknowledge that our own government and its spokesmens spoke with certainty about things that were untrue, so there's that too. Some of those things said were practically straight up lies, so when does it stop being a conspiracy and start being the truth? The issues with honesty around covid certainly weren't one sided.

The Vaccine wouldn't likely have stopped him from catching Covid but it would have probably stopped him from dying. Here is a graph that shows how many fatalities occured from Covid with Vaccinated vs Unvaccinated per 100k cases. It doesn't take a genius to see you were exponentially more likely to die if you were not vaccinated. https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/united-states-rates-of-covid-19-deaths-by-vaccination-status

reply

I said it wasn't a guarantee, and you went along and ignored everything else I said. This graph also does not take into consideration the people who have had adverse affects to the vaccine after the fact, which is something else I mentioned. I'm sorry you lost someone, but you seem to be trying to put forth an agenda rather than be completely unbiased.

reply

I have no agenda other than to say what was obvious. Your likelyhood of dying was much much lower if you took the vaccine. My entire family of 5 caught Covid on Christmas of 2020 and I we were only sick for 2 or 3 days then back on our feet. My entire family (In house family) took the Vaccine after my friend passed away in September assuming we had natural immunity for a while after catching it. We didn't notice any ill effects from taking the vaccine. I also won't argue that a some people probably did get myocarditis from the Vaccine but the sad fact is a much higher percent of people caught myocarditis from having a bad cases of Covid. It's sad that this shit was all politicized because all the BS being spread around about the vaccine it's what caused my friend to decide not to get vaccinated. Why were we listening to politicians instead of medical experts during a GD pandemic is beyond me? Side Note: When my family caught Covid in 2020 we took hi doses of Vitamin D and Zinc and I don't know if it helped us or not but we were over it very quickly. My wife's sister who was the person that brought the virus to us on Christmas did later end up in Hospital for about a week from the illness and I didn't count her amoung our family of 5 since she doesn't live with us.

reply

I didn't take the vaccine because I have an irrational yet crippling fear of needles. I can't get past it, yet I'm a woodworker and hurt myself daily with cuts and slivers that are far worse than any needle pain would be. Sometimes when something gets in our heads, that's all it takes. That sucks too, because I had covid twice, and both times it really kicked my ass. But like I said, you can't exactly blame people that questioned the vaccine, since there was a fair amount of misinformation coming from the government already. People start to feel uncertain at who and what they can trust, then it turns into a giant shit show on both sides. As you said, it became politicized and then it stops being about science, which is very dangerous durring an outbreak.

reply

Except Jude Law was right when he exposed government officials getting privileges in front of the "common folk". And that isn't a one way street, because our government itself was spreading misinformation. You can't point at one side while ignoring the other side doing the exact same thing. In general, people often think they are right, even when they aren't. This doesn't stop because you are a government spokesman or official.

reply

Sorry , you have to be an idiot to believe the vax was the real deal!
