Simultaneously overwritten and underwritten
There were a million minor characters who seemed important, but never came into play, while Albert literally asks questions, but we never get to see them resolved. A lot of plot devices lead up to nothing. They should have either contributed to the ending, or not have existed, so Albert's story could be more fleshed out.
