Sinead O'Connor was totally Snubbed

Should've been nominated for best original song. Such a beautiful, sweet lullaby. Can't believe it was completely ignored.

I would like to agree with you, but all the numbskulls in my theater totally talked over it and I couldn't hear much of it. What I did hear sounded beautiful, though.

It should have been nominated and it would probably win (considering the lack of competition and the Academy wanting to give Glenn Close a win) however I think it ineligible, the Academy have strange rules and it might have to do with the fact that it only played in the end credits and not in the actual movie (this was the same with The Help and the Mary J. Blidge song which also wasn't nominated).

But the song doesnt actually get played in the movie....a different version of it is.

Sinead O'Connor did not write the song, so she would not get the award anyway.

The people who write the song would win, not the person who sings it.
