I'm with you there, APD. I didn't realize who she was, even after she opened her shirt, until later on in the movie. She actually looked, to me, a bit like Sam Waterston. And, she definitely gave a terrific performance.

Captain Algren: I will tell you...how he lived.

yes, sam waterston with a little roger waters thrown in. very appealing and just a great actress. i knew because i knew it was a woman and i recalled my eyes glazing over the credits with names completely unfamiliar as the movie was starting....except hers. it was an subliminal guess....

I knew she was in the movie, I just didn't see her in the character she was playing. Her acting has always appealed to me, with Songcatcher being one of my favorites with her.

She was very good. She did not make a very good man, however. She actually had nice breastes too!

I don't know who Janet McTeer is, this movie is my introduction to this actress, so I had a great chuckle when she revealed to Nobbs what Mr. Hubert Page really is.

She has great screen presence as a man in this movie, especially with her height, the manly carriage as a male house painter, confident and really knows "his" job.

I've looked up McTeer's filmography, and I'm very interested to see her soon in Tumbleweeds and Into the Storm.

I hope she gets attention for her role in Albert Nobbs in the upcoming awards season, in Hollywood and in some other places.

She was fantastic as Hubert. Definitely awards material there.
