How bad movies like this get financed in the first place?

Can a real producer explain to me how such a terrible movie can raise 3 million dollars and get made with so many flaws and plot holes with 3 fairly known AND talented actors to play the main characters? Seriously, there are so many talented directors and screenwriters out there who can't even raise any money for their films... I have a hard time trying to understand that nonsense.

Easy. They liked the pitch.

Your mistaken is assuming they set out to make a bad movie. They set out to make a movie that will make a nice profit.

Can't stop the signal.

Despite how bad this movie truy is I think the only positive thing I can draw from the hole thing is that the actors actually weren't that bad. Not once throughout the whole movie did I question their ability to deliver their role.
I only questioned the plot holes, movie direction, the believability of the movie, The Script and generally every single rubbish about it but the fact that the actors are unknown isn't that relevant
