One of the WORST Movies I've Ever Seen

SPOILERS

I can say with some confidence that ATM is one of the worst movies streaming on Netflix, and that I've ever seen all the way through. Yes, there are some features that are less competently made, but the fact this starts with the Universal logo means someone thought this script needed sizable money put into it, to the point that it's not even possible to get a so-bad-it's-funny vibe. The bigger they are, the harder they fail. Here are some points to consider.

To start with, the padding on this is insane. It takes 5 minutes before we see any characters. The opening minutes are then re-cut and shown during the closing credits, making for a credits sequent that's 9 min. long. Take away the credits, subtract the 5 min. prolonged intro, you're looking at a movie with a RT of 1:15. Even at that you have the Corey character miraculously revived to waste more time resulting in one of the most padded out features I've seen.

I've never see a movie of this breed where the killer could be more easily escaped. 3 people in a small ATM building, 1 killer outside. When he starts pounding on the back of the building, the two men could have easily bolted in opposite directions. It wouldn't take 5 minutes for help to arrive, so if the killer had any sense at all he would abort as soon as they took off.

There's a lack of screenwriting possibilities for a movie like this taking place today. We all have cellphones. They are always at our sides. The killer needs someone to enter his trap without their cellphone, let alone THREE PEOPLE.

The killer is without motive, despite the setup begging for a motive. There would have been some satisfaction had this guy lost his retirement fund at the hands of some yuppies, and he plotted revenge. It's impossible for the scheme shown here to predict who would be the victims. He's no luring this firm to his ATM trap.

Take all of this into consideration when you're trying to rank film failure. This screenplay didn't deserve a cast with knowns, or any kind of distribution. I've seen movies I think most people would consider worse simply because they couldn't afford to pull of the vision of the director, but they had something to say and attempted to make their point.

I certainly don't think it is one of the worst films ever made. Don't get me wrong, ATM is a bad film, no doubt about it, it's completely unrealistic and has insufferable characters that we are stuck with for the whole film. I have seen far worse films that have not only gone DTV but have also had a theatrical release. Ex. Any PG-13 horror film that comes out now, Left Behind, The Expendables 3, etc. There really are so much more especially when you consider the DTV market, just look at any of Steven Seagal's DTV films, nearly all of them are far worse than ATM.

You seem like you don't watch that much DTV films, hell, I can't blame you, most of them are junk but there are worse, trust me. I'm not defending this film, it's ludicrous, pretty predictable, and the fact you don't care about any of the characters makes the film not worth watching. I seen it once three years ago and I am still surprised I remember some of it, forgettable film.

It's not bad. They say it's unrealistic but it's not that unrealistic. You saw in the film what would've happened had they tried doing what the audience is saying they could've done. You can try different things but, there you go.

Totally agree, complete garbage.

Truly atrocious, a dreadful movie that i had the misfortune to endure and i blame myself because my brain is wired in such a way that no matter how excruciatingly bad a movie is once i start watching i just have to finish it, but damn this one was terrible in all aspects, not even the slightest redeeming quality to be attained.

I loved the movie. I've seen it 3 times since I found it on Netflix.
