I often enjoy movies that other IMDb members say are terrible.

But this is the exception. There was absolutely nothing good about this movie. 90 minutes of watching 3 people sitting in a room doing nothing. I never thought I could get bored watching a horror movie. The killer had no motivation. His actions didn't make any sense. And to make it worse, the filmmakers put in a scene of the killer looking at a bunch of ATM diagrams, as if that's supposed to explain it all.

On many IMDb forums, I hear people talking about how great some movie is because it has a mysterious ending that makes you think and come up with your own interpretation. No! It's not great! It's just really lazy writing. Creating an interesting mystery is easy. What's not easy is creating a good, original answer that does the mystery justice and resolves the storyline.

I'm glad that on this occasion, everyone seems to hate the ending just as much as I do.

The killer had no motivation.

In real life, most serial killers don't have a motivation beyond the thrill of the kill.

And to make it worse, the filmmakers put in a scene of the killer looking at a bunch of ATM diagrams, as if that's supposed to explain it all.

It does explain it. It explains that this guy is a deranged serial killer who does it simply because he 'can'. It shows that he plans this all out from top to bottom, so that he doesn't get caught.
