The most annoying scene. (Spoiler)

I just adore this movie. I know a lot of movies reflect the morals of the current society.

When Gil finds out Inez has had sex with Paul, her reaction is to tell him to get over it. Really? Is this the norm these days, or am I just being old fashioned. Having sex with someone other than your partner is no big deal apparently.

It's a badly written scene. It feels like Woody didn't know how to end, and he just wanted Inez's character out of the way so that he could finish the movie on a romantic note. I bet the dialogue was written on set just a few hours before they filmed it.

I had nothing but hate from Inez from the moment she appeared on the screen.
She is depicted as shallow, senseless to her fiancee's feelings throughout the whole movie, money driven, etc, etc.

I think that scene and her reaction are just one more in a series of actions by her character that show her as a horrible person.

I would have been more shocked with her showing some sort of guilt.

yeah, but it's the way she turns on a dime that represents bad writing for me. One moment she's flat out denying the affair, the next she's like "well whatever, it's just an affair. Get over it!" Denying the affair makes sense to me, but her sudden decision to cave after 30 seconds of interrogation strikes me as in-credible.

I didn't have any strong feelings for her character beyond the sexy dresses she was always sporting. In my book it's simply a case of underwritten character development.
