What a wasted concept. 1/5
I was digging the "god of x universe searching for his own creator (the author) to learn more about himself and what's beyond his own comprehension, even though the creator has been dead for 50 years (Crocket Johnson died in 1975).
However, this cinematic existential crisis is ruined by the fact that the movie was created by hack and ironically unimaginative writers who would rather see an uncharismatic Zachary Levi make pies and act like a bumbling moron for an hour. When are they going to realize that he's anti-vax, box office poison who can't do a convincing cry to save his grandma?
The SINGLE good thing about this movie is that it's one of the few to accurately display what LOTR and their fanbase look like to non-weird human beings. Thank you Tamatoa the crab for that.
