Was killing off Nic Cage in the first one a mistake?

He was easily the best part about KA1 for me and without him in KA2 it felt very empty.

No, his death was one of the strongest scenes in the first movie and it shows that there are stakes.

I heard that there was supposed to be scene in KA2 where Hit-Girl sees a vision of Big Daddy at the cemetery, that would have been cool.

I think it was a huge mistake, Cage was good as Big Daddy sorely missing from the second one. The chemistry between Hit Girl and him was pretty cool.
