It reminded me most of A Simple Plan, which I was waiting for someone to mention. [I don't know why that movie doesn't play more often. The book just broke your heart into smaller and smaller pieces; the movie, while not as good as that, was still twisty and tense.]

People are complaining about Cut Bank feeling too similar to Fargo, like that's a bad thing. The Fargo model--regular people tripping a string of dominoes and being unable to stop them before they spiral out of control--is not such a terrible blueprint.

"Plan Gone Awry" is a nice change from the superhero/tortureporn/teenage dystopia trends.
