My perspective without reading the book, got what I expected

Got EXACTLY what I was expecting, don't get the wrong idea, I did not like this movie, it was fun and enjoyable at times, but overall did not like it.

So, what I was expecting?, Goonies 2018, that is what I was expecting and that is what I feel I got, Goonies was a movie of its time, hard to watch today and have the same excitement that you got if you watched it in the 80s, you had kids beating adults and saving the day.

A popcorn movie for all the family that will be forgotten mostly in 5 to 10 years, not a bad movie but not a Spielberg master piece by any means.

To be fair, one of Spielberg masterpieces was also about kids beating adults - the film's title is ET.

Anyway, I've just finished watching 40 minutes of the film and came over here to see what the fuzz is about - I first saw a hyped review of this film on Angry Joe's youtube chan - and the fact that I'm here now, 40 minutes into the film, tells me I'm going to be disappointed.

Never liked ET, AT ALL, not even as a child, always found it extremely boring (enjoy Close Encounters of the Third Kind and love 2001, and those movies are slow and boring for a lot of people), one of the few scifi movies that I don't like but most people love, enjoyed more Explorers (1985) than ET, not the same theme but similar idea with kids saving the day and being the protagonists.

I'm with you, I loved Explorers and never got into E.T.

Going to see RP1 tomorrow, in IMAX 3D of course.
