The post-apoclyptic world didn't look so bad
They had vehicles on maintained roads ferrying goods and workers to and from cities. They had a working economy, and a thriving digital economy wherein ordinary people (Aech) can be "top ranked on the creator boards" and make money producing assets. They had outdoor markets, a functioning police force (even capable of arresting one of the world's most powerful people on suspicion of murder), and apparently enough infrastructure for literal children from around the world to convene in Ohio with only a few days' notice. They had lawyers, contracts, and companies with valuations in the trillions.
