Boy they really choose the wrong chefs to win the competition don't they?
Does anyone remember Whitney and do you think she was better than David, Lee and Sharone?
It seemed like it was too easy to pick her as the favorite and there were times when she was on the chopping block only to be miraculously saved by Gordon and Joe.
And there were times she was overplaying the sweet country girl from Minnesota a little too much.
And I just finished watching season 2 of unReal, where the producers openly talk about picking The Wifey during casting.
While they push the limits for dramatic purposes on unReal, you clearly see the same ploys on Masterchef and any reality show on TV.
Witney was Masterchef's Wifey. Look at the outcome from every season of Masterchef and you will see the Wifey. Except season 4 when the producers felt it was necessary to provide us with a male winner.
This season's Wifey is Brandi. But there's no doubt that the producers are giving us a hefty dose of potential male winners. The only question is: Will they repeat season 6, when a large portion of the audience felt that Derrick should win?
Ramsay is one of the producers of this show and he openly admits that they cast his shows, including Hell's Kitchen, with people who can't cook. He's comfortable with the formula and it will be a stretch to believe that he's gonna venture outside of his comfort zone.
For now, the boys seem to be the favorites, but I can easily see The Wifey winning again.
