The biggest flaw imho with the film is that the trolls were shown much too early - it could have been better if they prolonged it so you would question if the hunter was really crazy - anyway an enjoyable movie despite that

This is why the ever ongoing formulas in writing are bad for this world. After a while, people start to actually complain when there's a movie that finally deviates from the recurring templates...
Don't you think we've seen "that" movie for too many times now?
I liked that they were revealed early. Because, come on, we all knew the trolls were going to appear at some point so there's little suspense on whether Hans is crazy or not.
Better to give us the awesome trolls early then waste time on needless "suspense" on whether there are trolls or not.
I thought it was pretty cool that they showed a troll so early on. I thought we were going to have to wait until the last 10 minutes to see any real action. So it was totally unexpected and I liked that.
But it did lessen the effect of the last troll. By then we had already seen a few so it was not as dramatic.
If you don't like it, make your own movie.
