why on earth would the production company think people were interested
in a sequel? this movie has been an epic flop, at the time of writing it has not even made $23 million world wide on a budget of $26 million, in other words the studio has taken a huge loss by making this movie.
how could they be so dumb in the first place? the original Bad Santa was no blockbuster, but it was a minor hit making $76 million on a budget of $23 million, which is a minor hit in Hollywood terms. but that was 13 years ago, times have changed, comedy has changed, and what was once even vaguely popular is no longer. Movies like this just are not that successful anymore, and since the first one was never a blockbuster to begin with, what in God's name possessed the studio into thinking this sequel was something the public wanted?? seriously? the only people they have to blame for this movie flopping is themselves, for not doing enough research into what is now popular and seeing that there is no market for this!
