His interactions with BBTs character made the movie. Hopefully they get the same kid (I know he's an adult now) back to play his role again.
Heard they are looking for a female lead so I guess Lauren Graham isn't coming back. I can deal with that but not the kid.
I've been waiting to long for this movie. It better not disappoint. Before the haters say anything there have been plenty of great sequels to comedys.
Problem is that the kid isn't that kid anymore. Like you said, he's an adult. There's no guarantee that he would have any kind of chemistry with BBT. Only way that would have worked would be to make the sequel immediately after.
My big fear is that without the original director this might tank.
Don't you think they planted the seed for the kid to be kind of bad in the next one. Maybe it will be the kid, now an adult, having a battle within himself between good and bad. he was a pudgy little thing.
