The final robbery and chase sequence . . .

. . . Is incredidible, stunningly shot and and edited, from Luke's pathetic solo attempt to rob the bank, through his escape and chase across (appropriately) the graveyard, to the final confrontation at the house. Had me gripped throughout. Realistic, terrifying and emotionally involving.

The whole film is great but as I watched this sequence I thought the director could teach the blockbuster filmmakers a thing or two in building tension from the very beginning then dropping the audience off the edge of a cliff.

Preach... Watching it again years later and was gonna bring up the same point.

Absolutely. The final robbery followed by the Cop Chase scene was most intense and to me the best part of the movie, because it felt raw and very real. I remember my girlfriend perking up big time during this particular moment so I know many others did too.

What in my opinion makes it special is the fact that in 99% of the films you expect the protagonist to succeed or at least not die since it's so early in the film.

The robbery though goes from worse to worse and the viewer is thinking this is a realistic movie and this shlt is going terribly but somehow he'll find a way out.

Not to take anything away from the way it was filmed, it was excellent but I think that if the exact same scene was in the end of a different film, its impact would have been significantly less. A rare cool trick by the creators.
