Now I know this film is supposed to be three different stories. I get that. And honestly, I still enjoyed the overall film. Except for the ending, I guess. It needed a better ending. But in my opinion, the first story of Ryan Gosling as a dirt bike riding bank robber, is by far, the most superior and intriguing story of them all. I believe that story alone could've been a full length movie.

shareI knew nothing about film when I sat down to watch it. From the synopsis I assumed all the clichés - love triangle, romantic bad boy, dour good guy etc.
So I was caught by surprise - but pleasantly so. It's a deeper and more mature story than I was expecting and I enjoyed it.
I liked the ending too. It's open and amoral and realistic.

shareI avoided trailers and only heard glimpses of it from a few movie websites that heaped praises on it.
From the imagery alone it looked like a well photographed and somewhat emotionally epic tale (if there is such a thing). So it definitely met and surpassed my expectations as far as quality filmmaking was concerned.
I only watched this movie once and it was years ago, but I remember being extremely disappointed when the story from the trailer ended about 45 minutes into the movie.
