Messy 3rd act could have been avoided with honest communication
Bradley Cooper telling his son, look that kid is the kid of a guy I killed, that's why you should stay away.
Then the son of chooses to still hang out with kid, at least could have had the chance to talk and apologise it.
But then I guess we'd miss the drama for the movie.
