This mini-series looks underwhelming.
'The Stand' has distinctly televisual production values compared to modern, more cinematic prestige series. The strange mix of actors doesn't inspire trust, either. It seems like the cast were randomly selected via names drawn from a hat.
Also, the novel began to lose my interest during the third act, when the supernatural aspect ramped up and you realised that the characters were on predetermined paths on behalf of higher powers. I don't get the impression that the mini-series is going to tighten up that aspect, either.
