You cannot polish a turd.

I'm giving this one a pass. I guess the 1995 version is still the definitive one. Starting the new miniseries 5 months after the plague? Gimme a break!

I've been reading a few reviews and the consensus is it's mediocre and bland. The book is one of my all-time favorites so I'm pretty bummed. I was hoping for some serious blood, murder, drama, and scares.

I'm old enough to have seen the ABC miniseries when it came out, and for the most part was impressed with how much they did with a TV budget. I was really hoping this would just add to that.

I'm going to watch it, but expectations are low. Hopefully, we'll all be pleasantly surprised.

Agreed. I hope for the best as well but I am prepared for this long and eagerly-awaited series to disappoint.
