Not charming
The first episode suffers from a lack of charm. Frannie had nothing to make her likeable. Compared to 1994, this was a let down. I think Harold was closer to the book. I remember him being pudgy and oily. But, the 1994 version was more understandable.
With the current editing and portrayal, this seem to lack a spark of likeability.
