For Really Die Hard Longmire fans -- Some thoughts

If you are reading this you probably like this show as much as I do. So here are some thoughts:

1. I said this on another post, but the writers did Mathias no service by having him so antagonistic toward Walt. I get that he may not trust the White man, but he came off awfully petty at first and then the writers softened him up and their developing relationship was one of the best things on the show.

2. Because -- it's a good thing to see the Native Americans and the White people working together every now and then. Every Native American can't be bad (See the series, The Killing) but there are few good Native Americans on this show. They need more.

3. Enough with the Barlow fall out. I thought it was way out of character for Barlow to kill his son -- stupid really, and the wrongful death deal has gone on way too long. End it.

4, The episode with the cult family was sadistic and not needed. That the family got off Scott free except for one leader offends me.

5. We know season six will end the series, and while in the book Walt and Vic get together, I think that's pushing it given how the writers have developed Donna and Vic. They have changed Travis and it now makes sense for them to get hitched and Donna and Walt to be together.

6. At some point we need to know if White Horse is as bad as Malachi or not. Malachi shooting his own man was also inconsistent with his character. But he's a bad man. The question is is White Horse as bad as him.

7. Why is Ferg in the show? The writers do him a disservice. He has little to do.

8. The Irish mob? Really? Nuff said.

On every show that is based on some kind of source material (comic, older show, theatrical movie, book) I always post something about them being two different things. The TV show is based on characters from the book. Once you have the show it takes on a life of its own and diverges. You can't compare the two; if you do, it's inevitable that you will be disappointed.

I think Netflix is working on season 6. They're going to have to tie up that ridiculous lawsuit pretty quickly. In season 5 they made Walt really stupid. They will need to fix that as well.

If you watched the last episode of season 5, the last scene, you saw the evil lawyer tell Walt what the whole lawsuit is really about. I'm just hoping Walt grew a brain and was secretly recording it.

I agree that the lawsuit is ridiculous and that storyline needs to end quickly. Indeed it should have occupied no more than one episode, if that. It was a distraction and not entertaining at all.

I agree that the evolution of Matthias has been good. He was rather two-dimensional in the early days.

Is Nighthorse bad (I assume you mean him with the reference to "White Horse")? That is a difficult question to answer. Within his own moral code I think not, but I do think that he has cut corners and dabbled with criminality in the past. I think he genuinely wants to advance his people's lot in life. He does not do what he does just for his own benefit.

One of the jarring things of season 5 was Walt's unjustified tenacity in his pursuit of Nighthorse.

If Nighthorse is bad then Malachi is a whole other level of bad! Chalk, meet Cheese!

well we see (spoiler alert) that walt and donna breakup, which is a good thing. just don't like her at all. maybe it's the actress, maybe it's the character, but I don't like her. yes ferg needs more, I like how he can get tough when needed. of course didn't you know that the irish mob is everywhere? even in wyoming:)

this season for me started out slow and a few episodes were just depressing as hell and I was starting to think it wasn't as good as when it was on A&E, but wow the last few episodes were great and I can see why they needed to go down that dark path of herion and suicides and murder etc to get to where they needed to be later in the season.

his daughter though, what a smuck. that last episode where she is just so idealistic,she'll take on any case! it's like she's trying to make up for the injustices we put in the indians in the 1800's, so she's willing to even defend murderers rapists and herion dealers who cause little kids to commit suicide. yes she works for the tribe but even tribal members warn her but she doesn't care, she's the defender for social justice or something. even turns against her own father a little.
