Wondering whether to continue w/season 5

Went on a binge with the first two seasons because the characters and plots were so addictive, felt things started going off-track in season three, and now, at the end of season four, the train has crashed. Bizarre, convoluted plots with holes you can drive a truck through. Character changes that amount to assassination. Also getting a little tired of the obvious socially relevant themes with dialogue that sounds like it came from a brochure or textbook.

Should I bother with season 5?

Season 5 is awesome. And pulls a lot of loose story lines together. Also it developed the lesser aired characters(such as Nighthorse, my fave!) Henry really comes into his own as well. And steps out from under Walt's shadow as the 'sidekick'.
I think it's worth it to see it to the end.

Season 5 went further off track, made Walt seem even more obsessed and willing to throw away both his friendship with Henry and his relationship with his daughter. Where they took Vic just left me SMH.

Writing derailed even further. S1 and S2 were the best and the writing went completely off track since then with pretty unbelievable story arcs and completely changing the characters which was the basic attraction from the start to the point they are almost unrecognizable.

The only plus was they finally smartened up and gave more screen time and story to Mathias/Zahn.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll skip it. As you say, the characters were the attraction. I'd rather remember them as they were in the first two seasons.

I personally liked season 1 and 2 the best too. But I did like this last season. More so then season 4. This past season I found Walt way off character, but maybe next season that might get resolved. This last season I also thought the story line for Vic was stupid and unnecessary.
