Language

I love these characters so much and the fresh storyline but the language keeps getting more and more in the gutter, such a shame

Yes, that always seems to happen when shows move to cable. TPTB seem to think we need to hear it.

It happened with The Killing. On network TV the characters didn't curse but when it moved to cable they did, and it was very jarring...it was like the characters were changing their personalities. It wasn't necessary and didn't add anything to the story.

I completely agree! Curses are redundant and not always reflect reality. On cable networks like HBO\STRAZ\SHOWTIME\CINEMAX it's annoying and adds nothing. Even more so on streaming services like NETFLIX\HULU\AMAZON. Just because you can curse, doesn't mean you should.

However! I don't recall using F bombs after the move to NETFLIX, I don't like S*** but it's better then F bombs.

I am sorry for my grammar\spelling

Saying *beep* three times across 10 episodes isn't in the gutter. You want the gutter watch the debates.

We don't actually do want the gutter, that's really the point - Estella make a good comparison cable vs network, it's just jarring and so unnecessary

reply

That is perfect!

reply

I hadn't noticed that.

I agree. It's not necessary. The show stands alone without the usual trash.

reply

Why would you want characters to sound realistic.

reply

I would rather see this show end than put up with worsening language. I feel that strongly that it does not need it.
