There is absolutely nothing wrong with the term ' Indian ' - in the context of the show, they know the hunters in this episode are referring to American Indians.

Native American gets old - anybody born on American soil is a native American.

Next episode, " Highway Robbery " , same thing - PC run amok . Cripple is an offensive word - since when . Cripple is cripple. It is not an offensive term - you PC people need to get over yourselves.

My friend who has cerebral palsy and walks with crutches would disagree with you. He finds it a highly offensive term.

For whats it worth, in Tonkawa OK there are casinos with lighted signs as big as a house:
Tonkawa Indian Casino West
Tonkawa Indian Casino East
I would expect if "Indian" was offensive there would be a huge protest.

That could be a legal requirement. For example, in Upstate NY where I live the Turning Stone Casino advertises as being owned by the Oneida Indian Nation, their official name. I suspect it's the same for the Tonkawas.

And Indians are people who are born on the Asian Subcontinent. Honestly, it's not your job to come up with names for different races, so why are you trying? This Native American vs Indian thing is something that I've never even noticed. It sounds like an issue you have a bug up your butt about. I suggest you try to relax about it so you can better enjoy the show and all westerns and give people the respect they deserve to label themselves, instead of you assuming you have the right to label others.

Are you an Indian (either kind)?

If not, then you really have no basis nor authority for deciding whether there's anything wrong with Indian or not. It's not up to you.

You sound like a high school bully when you say that sort of thing.

I lived In New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana. 'Indian' was the word for Indians used both by Indians and whites. Native American gets really annoying if you are in a place where you have to say it 30-40 times a day.

Actually it seems the correct term is hardly ever used .. "Indigenous People" is the correct term.

Even though it's mostly applied to Australians and anthropology texts, aborigine would also be correct.

And when you say something is "the correct term," you're wrong. Language is fluid and malleable. Rarely is there only one definition for a word, or one word for a definition.
