Just watched ep 5.9

I think Walt is really beginning to loose it here. He is totally irrational. He can't focus, he can't keep stuff to himself until he has more info. He just blurts out any thought that crosses his mind.

In this ep he starts out accusing Jacob of having Hector kill Malakai (spelling?) when it is obvious that Malakai could have spelled out Hector Lives just to cause trouble.

He then has an idea about Hector and goes off the deep end instead of playing his cards right.

Right now, he is as convinced about his current rant as he has been about every rant in the show sofar that turned out wrong. I am beginning to like Nighthorse more than Longmire. At least that guy keeps his cool.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who was irritated with Walt. He's so obsessed about Nighthorse, even though his original problem (that Nighthorse killed his wife) was wrong.

He's alienating everyone around him, his daughter, Henry, Vic.

And why isn't he taking this lawsuit seriously?

My other beef about this episode was Vic's testimony. In real life, she would already have been deposed and known that the guy that beat her up was serving as his own attorney. She would not have been surprised and blindsided in a real trial.

I was so happy Henry got his bar back.

reply

Yeah, Henry getting his bar back was the best :-)

she would already have been deposed

Yeah, this seems to be a device that many shows use for a surprise reveal.

I'm on episode 8 and I'm really thinking Walt needs a stint in a loony bin. His obsession with Jacob, accusing him of EVERYTHING, is utterly ridiculous!

Jacob is guilty. Walt is right. Walt was a dick to Cady. Walt is finaly talking to Vic and not the crackhead fake ass psychiatrist. Walt is being Walt. It's all good. Season 5 is the best.
