Coulda, shoulda, woulda...Zach

I have a few thoughts about Zach:

1) Could all of this have been averted if only Hannah had taken Kat's advice and dated Zach at the beginning?

2) Hannah was so caught up in her own version of how things weer going that she failed completely to see that other people also had weaknesses. She talked a lot about putting up a front and she should have been able to see that Zach needed the compliments because of his own insecurities. His mother pushes him, his team mates have expectations about his game performance, and he knows that he is not very bright.

3) Would it have been so hard to give Zach the benefit of the doubt? Sure, it was a total jerk move on his part to take the notes, but I think he did it because he liked her and was trying to get her attention. He is not very articulate, but he attempted to reach out to Hannah that day in the cafeteria. Yes, he firmly put his foot into his mouth, but she unleashed her anger at his friends on him and he retreated like a beaten puppy.

Zach didn't deserve a tape. Out of every one, he seemed like a good guy that Hannah attacked for very little reason. And his 'retribution' by taking those notes just wasn't a big deal and not deserving of being put on the same level of someone like Justin or the stalker or pretty much anyone else.

I've only watched up until Zach so far, so not entirely sure who's the worst.

Just watched up to Zach and don't think he deserved a tape either. His so-called retaliation of taking the notes was petty or simply like you said, a kid trying to get a girl's attention.
