Question about one of the film's jokes

I have actually not seen this film as of yet, but there was apparently a joke within the film that relates to Spainards I believe. For those who've seen the film, and more importantly for those who got this particular joke, could you explain what the basic and/or entire jest of the joke was about specifically?

And also how exactly do Cubans, and Latinos as a whole, view themselves in relation to Spainards and vice versa? I ask this because I'm quite interested in this particular topic as far as relationships between Spainards and Latin Americans are concerned.

There's only one reason those South Americans speak Spanish and it's not a good one.

So was this the whole point of the joke in the film; the unfavorable view of Spainards resulting from their colonization/conquest of The Americas, and of what is now Latin America in particular? Btw, Cuba is not part of South America, even though it was also of course colonized by Spain.

Dude, pay no mind to the stupid response you got. People in LatAm don´t view spaniards in a bad way because they colonized us, unless they´re hard left brain washed... well, zombies. There are loads of stereotypes in LatAm about every kind of nationality, spaniards included (and italians, and portuguese) because we received thousands of them during WW2. So every latin american country has a small colony of spaniards and other europeans, and attached stereotypes. I digress; the joke about the spaniards has more to do with a specific cuban situation... how do I put it? Ehm...

Sex tourism, that´s how I put it. Cuba is a hotspot for tourist that are looking for some strange, because they´re desperate for dollars and everything is dirt cheap there. That´s disgusting and depressing, but that´s what it is. Spaniards may have a reputation for being specially freaky, but the joke would have worked equally well with some other european nationality.

Hope that helps.
