Daughters reaction
Do you think the daughter overreacted? I know if I saw someone who looked like my dad I would have a strong reaction, but I don't think I'd physically push or kick him.

shareI thought the same thing.
shareRecently, I visited my uncle who is a double for my late father.(Not twins). I broke into tears because I had seen him in years and didn't realize how much he looked like my Dad. It was quite a shock.
shareMy take was that, particularly since she was additionally disillusioned with men given her recent breakup, she thought that Tom was some kind of a grifter/con man seeking to take advantage of her mother's grief.
shareDing! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!
Jesus, are people really dense? She wasn't just reacting to his uncanny resemblance to her father. She also assumed that he was a grifter/con man (as Cinemaskype pointed out). For all she knew (since her mother hadn't told her anything yet), Tom somehow discovered he was a dead-ringer for her dad and was taking advantage of her mother. That's why she kept yelling "What are you doing?" "You are a freak!" and calling him "Sick!"
.
There's resembling and then there is having a near-doppelganger.
I don't think she overreacted one bit, it took her off-guard. She was angry at her mom, and took it out on him.
Yes it was an overreaction.
shareDefinitely overreacted. I can completely understand being shocked and upset but to attack the man was crazy.
shareYes, it made her look mentally unbalanced and emotionally immature. I found it to be an over-the-top reaction...total melodrama.
"Don't get chumpatized!" - The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007)
I found it to be an over-the-top reaction...total melodrama.Totally agree, but then that is what this abysmal film is all about. Besides this embarrassing episode, think meeting Roger in the marketplace and cold-shouldering him, going back to the same Mexican coastal resort. The cheese is in endless supply.🐭 share
Calling him a Monster was soooooo over the top, even though one anticipates a shock, her reaction was not believable and imo the whole script was unrealistic.
