I could not stand Marty (Eric Stonestreet)! Why would anybody be friends with such an obnoxious lard? No wonder Mimi got her sex on with Vincent! I really enjoyed the movie but he was really getting on my nerves. Wasn't too fond of Philip (Matthias Schoenaerts), either.
sharePhilip just came off as a complete monster. Lot of people had a rough life, but he seemed to be living well after his early struggles. Hard to emphasize with him whatsoever.

shareWhile he wasn't the most "evil" of the characters, Marty was definitely the most annoying. Of course through the course of the movie, you find out that he's possibly the most decent guy in the bunch...though that's not saying much! I'll probably be outvoted with most people saying James Marsden's character was the least repulsive, but remember that he DID help cover up a rape. Sure it was for his brother, but that's still way worse than anything Marty did. Everything "wrong" that Marty did, Marsden's character also did, which is why I view him as a "better" person than Marsden's character.

I concur with Marty. What an a$$! He kind of reminds me of my husband's alcoholic cheater brother, same mentality and no tact whatsoever!
